Arkansas, The Natural State

Located in the Southern U.S., and bordered by Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana, Arkansas is known as the Natural State. This is because of its various landscapes ; mountain ranges, dense forests located in the South and Western Mississippi plains.
This is also truly an agricultural state. You can expect to find various fruits like figs, grapes and other delicious fruits like strawberries, raspberries and even blackberries!
One of Arkansas’ specialities is the Boysenberry pie ; a tart made out of Boysen blackberries, and has a taste like something that’s in between a strawberry and a blackberry.
Arkansas is the birthplace of the United States’ 42nd president, Bill Clinton, as well as Johnny Cash ; a musician known for his baritone voice and success in his country music career (he has sold more than 90 million albums!)

Culinary events

Every year during the month of August, in a city called Hope, where you can find the most impressive watermelons in the world, a festival called the ‘Hope Watermelon Festival’ takes place. Among the activities that take place there, there are watermelon competitions of course, but also concerts and parades that feature decorated cars and floats.
Chocolate is equally as important at another yearly event, it takes place in February in Little Rock and is called “The Chocolate Fantasy Ball.” During this festival, there is a dinner that is held, auctions, delicious chocolate sampling, amongst other sweets, and finishes off with a ball at the end of the night. Our chocolate experts’ creations will make excellent birthday or Valentine’s day gifts and will delight the taste buds of even the finest gourmets!
