Sending chocolate to Iraq

Despite political problems in Iraq, it may be that you know someone living in Baghdad or people who work for private companies or NGOs there. Why not order and send them some comfort food in the form of artisanal products from Planète Chocolat? Your favorite specialized brand has set up a delivery service throughout the world, sometimes even to unstable countries such as Iraq

Consumption at half-mast

The geopolitical situation in Iraq is obviously complicated and has been for decades. Every sector of the economy has suffered disastrous consequences and buying food has become a big problem for many Iraqis, whether they live in urban areas or in more remote rural regions. Statistical data is therefore impossible to get even if we can safely assume that chocolate has become a luxury product. That said, it's notable that Iraq was the principal consumer of Turkish chocolate in 2008, with sales figures estimated at 63 million dollars. Nevertheless, in this environment, chocolate is an even more comforting gift to both give or receive.

Iraq is a country in the Middle East, so we can assume its level of love for chocolate resembles that of its neighbors. Chocolate especially prized during major events, whether they are personal, cultural or religious. Birth, marriage, Sunni, Shiite or Kurdish holidays, Christmas, Easter . . . there are so many celebrations that call for chocolate! They are also opportunities to share fine Belgian chocolatesboxes of pralineschocolate figurines or assortments of truffles, which Planète Chocolat will deliver safely from Brussels all the way to Iraq.
