Incredible landscapes…

Surrounded by Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York state and Detroit Long Island, Connecticut got its name from the name of the river that it crosses. With its 12,713 km in surface area, it is one of the smallest states in the U.S., but nonetheless one of the most densely populated, even though its population is currently decreasing.

This state invented the revolver and rifle. Today, Connecticut profits mainly from its tourism revenue, which has declared this state as one of the richest in the U.S. With its close proximity to New York, but also thanks to its numerous extraordinary landscapes, Connecticut is a touristic state that you must visit! Between forests, national parks, lakes and river valleys, you will always find something to do and you will discover a magical place that will leave long lasting impressions on you.

...and Culture!

Yale University, the very famous and oldest university in the country, is located in the town of New Haven - it was founded in 1701 and is a proud accomplishment of this state. Its library, which holds over 15 million books, overflows with treasure and stresses the existing rivalry between Harvard, Princeton and Yale, which are the three biggest universities in the United States.
Nevertheless, to this day forward, this state possesses literature of several renown writers, like Harriet Beecher Stowe’s, famous author of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin." Stowe's novel was anti-slavery and had created quite a bit of controversy at the time of its release. There is also Samuel Clemen’s work (whose alias is Mark Twain), who is the author of “The Adventure of Tom Sawyer.”
Connecticut’s cuisine incorporates a lot of seafood ; including mussels, shrimp and quite a bit of fish as well. Clam chowder is one of the state’s specialities. It has also been said that the first lollipop was created in New Haven in 1908. Election Day Cake is equally as important to note, since “Election Day” was considered as the second most important day next to Thanksgiving in New England. This is generally a classic English cake, garnished with spices, raisins and different fruits.
Evidently enough, chocolate plays an integral role in the regions of Connecticut. Who doesn’t genuinely like chocolate? Whether it is to thank somebody, to show affection or for any holiday during the year, from Christmas to Mother’s Day, chocolate is always a good idea!
